   Fuck you, blood-sucking anti-Hungarian! We don’t know who kills Gipsies in Hungary, but we know that Gipsies kill a lot of Hungarians. You know which article I’m commenting on. Why don’t you deal with that? If you say that the Hungarian People blame everything on the Gipsies, you are wrong. We blame the crisis on people like you who say that only the Gipsies are victims whereas in many towns Gipsies steal everything from people. All these things are preparing a Hungarian genocide. But we, the people of Attila, will never give up!

   Your article in NY Times about the gypsy-situation in Hungary is biased and full of lies. When you do a peice like this you are obligated to be unbiased, and to do your homework. Shame on you…

   You and your anti-Hungarian gypsy lover fake article. Disgusting. This means the New York times can lie anything? Another proof: the media and the press - liar.

   The gipsies kill 30 Hungarians / year. Why don’t you write about that?

   Hungarian Guard killed gipsies? Where is the proof? What happened last time? 2 gipsies executed other gipsies.

   Why don’t you ask the average people what they think? I can tell you! The gipsies are killed by gipsies. They catched 2 killers they were gipsies. Write about the gypsy MAFIA, they are the killers. There are no “racist killers” in Hungary.

   I was surprised to read your coverage on my country titled As Economic Turmoil Mounts, So Do Attacks on Hungary’s Gypsies. You uggest that their is close connection between the impact of economic crisis on Hungary and the violence againts gypsies. There certainly is remarkable prejudice against gypsies in my country, just as much as there is considerable conflicts and fear in those villages where gypsies and non-gypsies live together – on both sides. But I wonder what made you write that widespread intolerance and right-wing ideas must be seen behind the recent attacks on gypsies. Your readers must now that, exluding one singe counter-example, none of the perpetrators have been found by the police yet, thus no responsible observer may say anything ex cathedra about the background of what has happened. What is more, the only case when the perpetrators were captured, proved you wrong, since the two persons who killed two gypsies last fall, turned out to be gypsies themselves. Besides, these days many non-gypsies are murdered by gypsies each year – but as much as it is illegitim to see ethnic motivations behind these cases, you cannot suggest the same when it happens vica versa, unless you have undoubtedly found out that it is so.

    looks like you got a lot of flack for this hungarian story. i’ll have to look it up.
    nice to have met you last night. i read your sum-up of the Hegemann story this morning and have ordered the book (late to jump on the bandwagon, yes).

    i’ve never been to dubai, but never received hate mail from the düsseldorfians either. mainly, i presume, because the SZ version of the story was much more tame. if you google april lamm, you’ll get all kinds of junk, so i’ll make it easier for you here:
